Hoisted from the comments...

Glenn Greenwald appears in Megan's comments section in this thread (I verified that it is him).

Megan wrote: "Glenn Greenwald, predictibly [sic],[sic] views these as fascist attempts [at pre-emptively handcuffing and arresting protesters] to stifle dissent."

Greenwald, or a very good imposter of the spirit and style of Greenwald writes:

The reason it's customary to link to what someone writes when criticizing what they've written is to prevent brazen lying like this.

I said -- so clearly that even you should have been able to digest it -- that the people who committed violence or otherwise broke the law should be arrested. What I wrote had nothing to do with anything you said I wrote.

Nonetheless, keep cheering on preemptive arrests of lawyers, journalists, videographers and legal observers -- along with home invasions and mass arrests of people who had no connection whatsoever with any criminality -- and then keep boasting about what "libertarian" you are. It's good for even more deep entertainment than you normally produce when you move your mouth.

Props to Greenwald for this, and for not rebutting Megan in his column, and thus leaving her pitiful cry for attention unsatisfied.

Oh boy. She's making up for lost time for public humiliation.

Didn't she just have her own run-in with the DC police a few months back? Something about her friends being unfairly harassed for gathering on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial?

What's her stupidity-to-hypocrisy ratio, anyway?

Oh this made my day! After watching a very boring RNC, it is great that Glenn gets a solid shot in on her blog. Glenn's a real journalist. Best of the year, IMO.

I can't believe how frequently Megan quotes other bloggers without politely and customarily linking to them. To quote them out of context without linking them? That's downright unethical. At first, her position at the Atlantic was bemusing. It's now becoming infuriating, but not in that "if you're getting under their skin, you must be doing something right" sort of way. I don't want to give Megan that much credit. We're not just talking about a shallow writer, reactionary, arrogant dumb-ass who thinks plunking big words from her thesaurus will make her look smart, we're talking about a woman who cannot even spell properly, here.

Does Megan really thing she is going to be the next Peggy Noonan or Thomas Friedman? What is her ambition, exactly? Why is she being paid to blog while I am struggling to find full-time employment after Lehman let me go? So many fucking questions.

Her primary concern about the protesters is that no one is hitting them over the head with a 2x4.
