She Actually Fucking Did It

The BP Spill: How Bad Is It, Really?

I could just post the link and title and you know all you need to already about what she said. Basically, she's letting BP lie to her and is glad they are. Something like 2 billion million gallons of caustic, toxic dispersant along with many multiples more of oil are obviously no biggie. Us stoooooopid alarmists see, say, untold acres of already vanishing wetlands coated in tar balls and crude and think they're gonna die. Megan wonders if maybe they'll just turn into lil natural refineries and sell gas to fishermen.
However, it will turn into a catastrophe when gulf shrimp become prohibitively expensive just in time for cocktail party season.

And of course, even if the worst hasn't happened, the results of the spill have been quite horrible enough.
All Megan is doing is trying to remind a rape victim that they weren't also murdered, you've got to find that silver lining.

Time* has decided to go from reactionary to full on crazy. They're doomed anyhow, so shilling for BP & eternal war must seem like the way for the insects there to polish their resumes for when the magazine goes down & they have to go into pure propaganda.

*If this isn't Megan's source, and she got it direct from a BP flack, so fucking what?

You can dump a ton of oil into the ocean, a ton of CO2 into the air, pile up nuclear waste--that's just the price other people will have to pay so the oligarchy is not disturbed.

Time essentially printed a BP press release, there's such a lack of journalism involved I don't really feel a need to mention them being part of the process.
Tho they have helped legitimize the lie, which they'll inevitably ignore in later coverage of the decades struggle to clean up we're only barely beginning, while lamenting the American public's inability to maintain focus.

And this, of course, applies to everything done by/under the 'thugs of the last 30 years.

You just gotta keep looking!

it wasn't nearly as bad as I was hoping for, but awesome when taken in the context of her previous writings.

I remember for a while she was simply not commenting on the disaster. Is this possibly the first thing she's said about it? That'd be awesome.

Any day now she's going to start saying that pot should be legalized. Every time I read Reason I can practically smell the bong water.
