Fuck

Bill Kristol is off the NYTimes OpEd page. Yay, right?
Fuck fuck, fuckity fucking fuck a fucked fuck of fucks who fuck fucking fucked fuckers fucked by fucking fuckozians.

It remains to be seen if Rosenthal fills the spot with a conservative or libertarian voice. But some of the writers he's spoken favorably of include the National Review's Byron York and The Atlantic's Megan McArdle.
Is Megan McArdle secretly a member of the Bush family? How the fuck does she fail upwards?
Oh, right, relentless ass kissing of every ass she sees. She might yet make enough money to overcome an utter lack of self-respect.

There's no way in hell that they'll bring Megan on. The editors will take one look at her history of laziness and missed deadlines and drop her in favor of some nutter from NR who turns in his drafts on time.

I was going to say that they'd also hate the constant fact-checking and copy editing. But then I realized that we're talking about Kristol's old spot. Clearly they don't bother with such trivialities.

The NY Times editorial page has become a joke over the past 10-15 years. Never thought provoking. Always banal. So Megan would be the natural choice to fill Kristol's spot. She and Tom Friedman can give each other tips on how to write the most insipid prose on any major paper. You know it's going to happen.

Fuck.

How can she be on the same paper as Krugman after calling him a pop economist?

Unlike other popularisers, such as Paul Krugman, whose best popular work (such as Pop Internationalism) focused on his own field, what Mr Friedman is known for within the academy is completely different from what has made him famous outside it, which is possibly why liberals tend to classify him with Mr Galbraith. Mr Friedman has done more than possibly any other economist to advance the cause of free markets. But that is not his only contribution; perhaps it is not even his largest. Anyone who would compare the Nobel prize-winner to JKG as an economist can only have a gaping hole in their economic education.

Now he has a Nobel and she's still an idiot.

There is no way that can happen. They might as well just not replace Kristol. Aren't they fighting for their financial lives, anyway?

Megan's ascent will eventually stop. Just as I went from managing little Megans at Lehman Brothers to selling rocks and minerals on eBay, Megan will eventually wake-up and realize that she has already had the biggest paycheck in her life before reaching age 40. Watch.

I said the same thing when I heard our know-nothing, do-nothing governor George Bush was going to run for president.

Imagine my incredulity when I thought this was in reference to Thomas Friedman.

It's Milton, right?
