Air Conditioning: Invention Of The 1980s?

Having seen the Muse Error-ato just last night (in the flesh) we were inspired to visit her log, & found something so inane it had to be shorterized:

"Shut up! You have air conditioning & you don't have to associate w/ poor people in public places any more."

Yeah, this kind of stuff is up with the whole rap about our our poor people shouldn't complain about poverty because there are people in the third world living in a tarpaper shack and eating dirt for dinner. "Our poor people live better than rich people in Africa..." Blah blah blah.

How come nobody ever turns that whole concept around? Like, rich people here live better that what's considered "rich" in a lot of other places, so just shut up and pay the higher damn taxes already.

That's my world view. I actually sympathize with the whole "the poor in America are well off" but only in the context of the poor in other countries, and I to me it rationalizes the demand that the middle and upper class should be quite happy to sacrifice a lot more seeing as how we'd still be the most well pampered people in the history of the world.

I mean, let's face it, all of us here on the internet have it pretty fucking sweet, even if we can't find jobs.

The rich in some of these countries with great poverty live much better than they do here. You can have people killed at will, make young peasant girls into your sex slaves, dump all kinds of toxins wherever you want. It's basically all the stuff our rich guys want to do but can't.

And what about adding some more pictures? I don’t want to offend anyone, blog is really nice. But as I’ve heard humans acquire info much more effective when they see some useful pictures.
