Too Soon?

Hey, remember the Virginia Tech shooting and how the right-wingers were all like "none of this would've happened if they'd been armed?"

What happened to the arms at Ft. Hood?

While you guys are off watching beizbol & drinking beer, Megan is hard at work bringing the stupid.

Today a Politico bit of tripe is magically transformed into WorstTalkingPointEver.

Ever her fans noticed that nobody actually said anything like it.

The arms at Ft Hood are under lock and key. People aren't walking around with weapons. Or at least not a lot of people are.

Not all of them, apparently.

But hey, of we only had MORE guns.....

The comments are hysterical.

Well, not that we can trust any of the reports yet, but one of the kajillion news stories I read claimed that the shooter shouldn't have had the weapons he used. He would have had to have smuggled them or somehow obtained them illegally.

Hey anonymous, you're retarded.

Anon is correct, actually. If anything, we're going to see the Right using this as an example of the negative consequences of gun control. They'll say the same thing they said about Virgina Tech...If it weren't for strict gun laws on military bases, then the shooter would have been stopped sooner, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Maybe. I'm putting my bets that reflexive deferment to the awesomeness of all things military/respect for our fallen soldiers keeping them quiet. It could go either way, though.

Wingnuts are already blaming gun control laws.

And I'm too retarded to leave a proper link. Just google "gun control ft. hood" and there's all sorts of wingnuts blaming strict gun laws for disarming the military personnel.

I'll pass, but it's nice to know I was right about you being retarded. Too bad I was wrong about the wingnuts. Though, honestly, it's nice to know that I don't understand them that well.

The major right-wing spin on this mass murder is that Political Correctness, not a bureaucratic failure is to blame.

Funny, no one complained about political correctness in the Post Office during the wave of postal killings in the 1990s. No one complained about PC during Oklahoma City. No one dared call the TSA, FBI, CIA, or NSA politically correct when 19 hijackers slipped through layers of eyes and attacked us.

Something changed since those events. These wingnuts think that the election of a black man as president equals political correctness run amok. But the anti-PC rhetoric makes it feel like 1994 again.
