Not only is she sickly-looking, she's a huge Ayn Rand fan.
"Sickly"? To each his own. But the heart sinks, learning she likes this book. Which I already hate but have ordered and will--at least at first--willingly read.

Jolie has starred in one right-wing, gun-worshiping, piece-of-shit after another, so it's no surprise that Rand is some sort of hero to her.
Clearly more going on here with Angelina: how does she reconcile her international charity and diplomacy roles with that movies she chooses to make? Either her head explodes daily or she doesn't think that much about it or the means (movies, $$, publicity) justifies the ends (publicity for charities/UN/poverty, etc) and vice versa. I am truly baffled here; maybe someone can fill me in. And, you can't just dismiss her work with the UN and aid agencies; who else has that much publicity to get people to AT LEAST look at these issues. I just don't get the Atlas Shrugged connection...
I've come across a number of people who love Rand's "books" but share her philosophy very little. To some, I think, the idea of self-empowerment is the draw and somehow they ignore or just miss the crazy ramblings about how the poor people are inferior and should die, etc...
Tony Blankley said essentially just that (poor/old people should just die) in last week's Left, Right and Center and the rest of the crew let him pass and/or laughed it off. I couldn't believe it but probably should have. Most of the episode is about Tony blabbing on about freedom and then he gets to Rand a little more than halfway through; might add some colour to the Friday gig.
