If you somehow missed it, there's also, admittedly a smidge late, this from the great Chuck Pierce:
"Stephen Davis has a new -- and very well-timed -- history of Guns N' Roses hitting the shelves this month. However, today, I learned something I did not know -- that Davis' Hammer of the Gods, his extraordinary account of touring with Led Zeppelin during the band's High Caligula Period, began as a magazine assignment ... for The Atlantic Monthly. Today, they'd probably send out Megan McArdle, and she'd write about market forces driving up the price of sand sharks."
She'll always be a #1 wanker to me.
Roy nails her, correctly, for her hypocrisy over her X-mas list, but yesterday she outdid herself. First she goes after a headline writer at some rinky-dink newsletter who wrote that jewelry sales were down 80%, when really 80% of jewelers surveyed said sales were down. She call it the "wrongest" headline she's ever seen and she shakes her head in disgust. Then two posts later her own headline reads that home prices fell "18% in October," when the story she links to clearly states that home prices fell 18% from where the were in October 2007to October 2008--which is one year, not one month. The question then of which headline is wronger becomes one for the ages. You guys at FMM have the easiest gig going. You can't make this stuff up.
Anon(s):
Do you refer to the LZ/mud shark/Edgewater Inn episode, later immoralized [sic] by The Mothers on the "Live at The Fillmore East" album?
Yes this is pretty damn easy, but there'd have to be money involved for it to be the "easiest gig going." We know how to pick non-profit endeavors.
Yeah, that was funny.
The right wing still doesn't get it, and probably never will. They are just hysterically funny.
As Mr. Bennet said in Pride and Prejudice, "For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbours, and laugh at them in our turn?"
That fantastic! realy! these website is way better then everything I ever saw.
I love it! Can't wait for the conference too, it's going to be great. And I'm 100% with you on the boob sweat. It's just plain unnecessary! Its very helpful.
