Good times

Hello Amy Alkon readers!
Please, stay and teach us the error of our ways. In truth, this blog is little more than a cry for help.

It was great fun while it lasted, but now the S,N! commentariat is having an earnest conversation about identity politics and the marginalization-by-mockery of transgender individuals. Feh.

Don't worry, clem. Amy will soon go off on another bigoted rant in her own comment section and then everyone can get back on track.

I must have a strange variant of dyslexia, one that causes me to read individuals' names as those of substance abuse support groups, cos' everytime I read 'Amy Alkon' I see 'Al Anon.' Does this mean I'm transgendered?

All I know is that the making fun of transgenders is very very bad and has to stop or else I'll stop associating with all of you!

Are there Flickr wars? I think I may have provoked one.

One thing is for certain; she's a fair target for us, here, in the future, tho Clif and S,N! obviously have dibs.
But she's a libertarian.
'Nuff said.

Well, it took her seven hours to catch on (or accept Amy's calls), but Dynamist at Flickr has deleted my soulful comments. Woe. Oh well, I grabbed the screens.

I have a question, largely because I can't be bothered to put myself through the pain of reading Alkon's rubbish, but from what I've read on that post you linked alone, does she really equate some dumb joke altering her Wikipedia entry to say she's a tranny with trying to stop her from writing or shut her up? Huh? It was a stupid joke. All she had to do was edit it back to read properly and drop it. How many people would have even noticed it? But hell, if she's going to pull this "wah, wah, people are cwiticizing me!" bullshit, she deserves to be mocked. Get over yourself, Amy. If you want fame and notoriety, you don't get to have it on your terms. Some people are going to react negatively and do and say mean, tacky shit. If you can't handle that, stick to obscurity.
