The banks may find out this home truth for themselves: UBS joins the string of financial institutions looking to raise major amounts of capital to shore up their balance sheets. The institutions that are doing this are, of course, the ones who screwed up most spectacularly in the mortgage crisis. I wonder if the road shows will contain a slide reading: But this time will be different, I swear!
